Meet the Researchers
We are proud to support researchers working to advance early detection and improve treatment for ovarian cancer.
Here, they introduce themselves, describe their work in their own words, and why this research matters to them.
Dr Manuela Klingler-Hoffmann
Senior Research Fellow, Adelaide University
The urgent medical need and the passion of the researchers and clinicians involved are my main inspiration. Our project has the potential to revolutionise the treatment for ovarian cancer patients, and I want to make a real difference.
Ms Paula González Menéndez
PhD Student, Adelaide University (Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics Facility)
Women’s health has been an interest of mine since my first year in undergrad. I have also always been interested in understanding how and why things work they way they do, so studying disease mechanisms was a very simple choice. Additionally, family history made choosing ovarian cancer a very obvious choice.
Mr Jack Scanlan
PhD Student, Adelaide University
After being introduced to cancer biology early in my university studies, I became interested in the underlying mechanisms that cause malignancies such as ovarian cancer. The urgent need to improve outcomes for ovarian cancer patients led me to my current work, given its clear aim of improving and extending the lives of patients through scientific discovery.
